ABOUT US
Social Compact is a multistakeholder movement that brings together corporates, worker organizations and experts into a co-solutioning relationship to ensure greater dignity and equity for 1 million industry-employed informal workers in India. It draws on worker experiences of industry’s entitlements to them, to enable more worker inclusive business systems.

The Social Compact aims to enable companies to self-assess their worker practices on these six outcomes, identify gaps, suggest and support the implementation of solutions both within the company and for its contractors and supply chain vendors.
The Social Compact challenges the narrative that a successful business only focuses on minimizing costs and increasing revenue with no attention paid to the conditions to which the workers are subjected to in the company’s larger ecosystem. And, it is intended to create the aspiration that a successful business is one that is also a responsible business.

Social Compact helps businesses go beyond minimum legal compliances and become champions in defining future of business.
Companies which are part of the Social Compact movement, also become part of a community of practice, to share risks, learning, vulnerabilities, resources with, and begin sharing their smallest progress at local and global platforms, to deepen their stakes and grow the movement.
